Blessed Are You YHVH

Many Jewish prayers begin with the words – Blessed are You Adonai (YHVH) Eloheinu king of all the earth… Or rather, in the more beautiful original Hebrew – Baruch ata YHVH Eloheinu melech ha’olam…

But the blessing that they say over the bread and wine should be particularly important to all believers in the Messiah. The blessing over the bread goes as follows:

“Blessed are You YHVH Eloheinu king of the earth, Who brings forth bread from the earth.”

Ancient Jewish prayer

If you are a Christian and nothing jumped out at you, go back and read it again.

Who is the bread of life? Who came forth from the earth after 3 days and 3 nights? Yep! This ancient blessing is speaking of Someone very specific!

Would you like to learn this easy prayer in Yeshua’s language? Here it is:

Baruch ata YHVH Eloheinu melech ha’olam, ha’motzie lechem meen ha’aretz.

Ancient Jewish Blessing

The blessing over the wine is very similar and I will cover that blessing in the next post.

Be blessed but more importantly, bless YHVH!

It's not about me, it's about my Father, His holy, unchanging Word, Yeshua made flesh! No ear tickling here. (And maybe a couple of posted recipes that I've been unable to find online elsewhere. 😉)
