"For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” - Acts 15:21
Moses being read every Sabbath… We’ll come back to that.
Let me tell you a little story. There was once a little girl who grew up in a strict church home where you attended Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night church. She was also enrolled in a Church of Christ school from kindergarten until 12th grade graduation which meant chapel every day and mandatory Bible classes. This little girl learned a lot and loved her school, her church family and Jesus but she didn’t realize that her foundation was built on sand until her father was killed suddenly in a car wreck and her marriage crumbled a few years later. Why was her foundation so weak? Why did death look so appealing?
Those of us who were raised as Gentiles have some serious problems that we’re not even aware we have. All of us. I don’t care if you’re Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Catholic, etc., etc., etc., we are all in trouble. Go back up and read that verse at the top again. Is Moses read in your congregation every Sabbath (Saturday)?
Yeshua’s disciples learned/studied Moses’ books every Sabbath, if not more often. They continued that practice as long as we know of and they expected that practice to be continued until Yeshua returns. Torah was their foundation. The Word. Torah (Gen-Deut) was what the new disciples were expected to learn. I never really understood the importance of this until I attended a synagogue. Did you know they STILL read Moses’ books every week?! There is a cycle they read on which takes them through all 5 books every year. It’s genius and I’ve heard that even David kept this same cycle!
That little girl, now grown, didn’t realize how vulnerable to false teaching she was until she read through the bible three times in a row. The Torah became the filter which every teaching she heard or read had to pass through. Every word Yeshua said passes through perfectly.
The little girl thought she knew Jesus intimately until she read Revelation a few times, and then she realized that she really had no idea who Jesus was before. Her desire to know Him grew exponentially after that! She now calls Him the same name that the Angel gave to Mary (Matt 1:21) and follows Him like an adoring puppy.
Those who truly love YHVH and His Son; you know who you are; read the Torah diligently until it is gets in your bones! Yeshua is the Word made flesh. To know Torah intimately is to know Yeshua intimately. ❤️ He/Torah is the best defense against false teachings!
When you get to know Torah/Yeshua intimately, you will discover who Yeshua warns about in Revelation 2:1, 2 and 2:14. He will open your mind to His truths.
Shalom, b’shem Yeshua ha’Mashiach 💕🗡️
