Your Inner Child

Then Yeshua called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3) and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4) Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

What does it mean to become as a little child? To humble oneself as a child? Sometimes what Yeshua says takes some deep pondering but I may know one aspect of what He means now.

Right now my significant other and myself are battling some demons and learning to trust our Father more deeply. In 2014, I quit my job that I loved to move an hour from Nashville with Johnny. We had a plan for work for me which never panned out leaving me jobless. It’s not that I didn’t try to find another job but all attempts were failing. I was forced to trust Johnny and the provisions from YHVH. It was extremely hard. Complete trust that YHVH will provide puts you in unfamiliar waters when you’ve worked your whole life. Our jobs make us believe we are providing for ourselves. They can be taken away instantaneously leaving us feeling as if we’re hopelessly treading in stormy seas. That is, unless we let go of our false sense of control and put complete faith in our heavenly Father. Trusting that He cares for us and will provide.

Well, Johnny is now going through this same test but it’s not going so well. Being the head of the household would naturally carry more burden, especially when you’re the only one working but the test is the same. I have not struggled with trusting YHVH deeper since Johnny hurt himself but I am struggling with the lack of faith displayed by Johnny. He is freaking out. That is how the above verses became a little more clear. Take a look at this photo below?

The child is Johnny’s granddaughter being held by Johnny’s son. We just pulled up at a restaurant and are about to have dinner in this photo. The baby has no money yet she is not the least bit worried that she will not get fed. She never worries where she will sleep at night because her father has provided a bed in her own room, with clothes and even toys that are not necessary for her survival. Her father loves her and she knows it. She trusts him completely.

Yeshua says:

9) “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10) For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

11) If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12) Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13) If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” - Luke 11:9-13

If we trust what Yeshua says, we only need to ask if we’re hungry or if it looks like we’re about to become homeless, but Yeshua also says:

25) “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26) Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27) Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? - Mat 6:25-27
31) “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32) For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." - Yeshua in Mat 6:25-34

One of the Father’s names is phonetically pronounced “Yehovah Yeer’eh” which means “YHVH will Provide” (Gen 22:14). And YHVH will provide!

Do we trust our Father? Are we willing to hand over the control, or do we continue loosing sleep each night with worry? Is that really doing us any good?

Shalom, b’shem Yeshua ha’Mashiach 💕

It's not about me, it's about my Father, His holy, unchanging Word, Yeshua made flesh! No ear tickling here. (And maybe a couple of posted recipes that I've been unable to find online elsewhere. 😉)
