Today, April 8th, was much cooler than it’s been and turned overcast in the afternoon, surprising us with hail. Yesterday was the 3 year anniversary of my estranged British husband, Steven Mattin’s, death. We had been apart since 2009, but he wasn’t willing to sign divorce papers, so…C’est la vie.

It turned out that he had been born with a heart problem that was never detected. His landlord found him face-down in his apartment with his jacket still on. He was currently living in Bridport, England, which, if you’re familiar with British serials, is about 2 miles from where “Broadchurch” was set.

Getting older is not what I thought it would be. The older I get, the more hygge I need, so I surround myself with sheepskins and have a little cubbyhole to watch movies from in the evening in my la-Z-boy chair; sandwiched between the bed and the wall with a wrap to cuddle in. A candle within arm’s reach to kick the hygge up a notch, if need be.
Tonight as the Lord’s Day begins at sundown (also known as Shabbat!), the temperature will dip down nearly to freezing, wind whipping. A perfect night for wrapping up, drinking cocoa and spending time with Yeshua in His word by candlelight.

May you have a restful Shabbat full of shalom. Remembering those who have gone too soon. From our humble home to yours. 💕
