In Luke, chapter 12, we have Yeshua saying something that is a bit shocking for those of us who grew up in church because “Jesus” was never portrayed as being this zealous, but our verse reads:
Luk 12:49 - “I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! ~ Yeshua
In Numbers 26:10, we have a hidden reference linking Yeshua with a consuming fire. Turn in your bible to that verse, which reads:
Num 26:10 - and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died, when the fire את devoured two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign.
The Hebrew verse has a different word order since Hebrew is verb oriented (action) whereas English is noun (subject) oriented, so “devoured”/באכל/ba’achol comes before fire. See below photo.
We have two more witnesses of Yeshua connected to consuming fire! The next one I’ll show you is in Num 16:35. This verse reads:
Num 16:35 - "And a fire came out from YHVH and consumed את the two hundred and fifty men who were offering incense."
And our last witness can be found in Lev 7:30, which reads in English:
Lev 7:30 - ‘His own hands shall bring the offerings made by את fire [to] YHVH. The fat with the breast he shall bring, that the breast may be waved as a wave offering before YHVH.
There is no “to” in the Hebrew so I bracketed it. The Hebrew literally says – “His own hands shall bring ET fire YHVH, the fat on the breast he shall bring ET the breast…”
His own hands shall bring ET fire YHVH. Yeshua is the fire of YHVH. The consuming fire. The holy cleansing fire. Think Sodom and Gomorrah, but also think the fire by night that gave the children of Israel light for 40 years. Consider these verses:
A word search of “fire” in the books of the Prophets and Yeshua’s words is very interesting.
Do you notice how often our bibles are speaking to our time? Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand!
