We have a witness of Yeshua in Num 18:29, hidden in the Hebrew as a stand-alone Alef and Tav. If you’re unfamiliar with the mystery of the Alef Tav, first check out the introduction blog here which has a short accompanying video.
Numbers 18:29 reads, with the Aleph Tav reinserted:
Num 18:29 - ‘Of all your gifts you shall offer up אֵת every heave offering due YHVH, from all the best of them, the consecrated part of them.’
Notice – “from all the best of them, the consecrated (set-apart) part of them.” Yeshua is certainly the best and He also was set-apart the second He was miraculously conceived!
The heave offering was also food for the Levites and their families, which Yeshua may have been referring to, in part, when He said: “For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.” – John 6:55
I had to look up the difference between the heave offering and the wave offering, but, as the name implies, the wave offering was waved from side to side whereas the heave offering was lifted in an up and down motion. So when we lift up our hands to Adonai we are performing a heave offering motion.
Yeshua was offered as a heave offering. He was the best, consecrated part and was lifted up. What an amazing sacrifice He was.
Shalom, b’shem Yeshua ha’Mashiach.
